Dr. Tavis pursued a global, multi-faceted career in the sectors of business, academia, and consulting. In business, she led the organizational development function for Motorola in the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions, based out of the UK. She later transitioned to be the Head of Talent Management for Nokia based out of Finland. She has worked extensively in Europe, India, Eurasia and the Middle East.
Most recently, Dr. Tavis served as Sr. Director, Executive Talent and Organization Development, AIG, responsible for top 200 senior executive development and succession planning globally. She conducted the enterprise wide global employee engagement survey, as well as leadership and diagnostic assessments and organization diagnostics.
Prior to joining AIG corporate HR in the spring of 2010, Anna held the position of Global Head of Talent Management and Organizational Development for PineBridge Investments (formerly AIG Investments)
At AIG, Anna Tavis was responsible for Global Talent Management, Organization Development and Learning supporting PineBridge Investments global population in 43 countries.
- She created and implemented a broad range of Talent Processes including recruitment and on-boarding, performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, executive assessments, employee surveys, management and leadership development working across alternative investments, real estate, and private equity.
- Her responsibilities at the time of AIG crisis included leading the Organization Change effort through divestiture of the Investments unit, supporting leadership communication, organization redesign and high potential retention initiatives.
Before joining AIG, Dr. Tavis was leading learning and development at United Technologies Corporation based in Hartford, CT. She was responsible for enterprise-wide global learning and development servicing over 215,000 employees in more than 70 countries.
Dr. Tavis is currently an Adjunct Professor at NYU in the department of Leadership and Human Resource Management. She previously served as Assistant Professor on the faculty of Williams College, Fairfield University, and Columbia University.
Additionally, she is an Editor of People and Strategy Journal, a professional HR publication for Human Resources Planning Society. She has authored a book and several articles on various aspects of global Talent Management.
