The Human Resource Planning Society, a not-for-profit organization headquartered in New York City, has been the premier global association and network of senior human resource executives and thought leaders for over 25 years. The majority of the 3,000 plus members of HRPS represent firms of $500 million or more in annual sales, with the balance of the membership representing smaller firms, partners and senior consultants from global HR consulting firms, and leading university faculty and researchers.

In support of our global membership, the Society:

·

Serves as a global forum for presenting the latest thinking and information on the HR implications of key business issues and strategic HR practices.

·

Offers a broad range of professional development programs with distinguished human resource scholars, practitioners, and business leaders.

·

Builds networks of diverse individuals to exchange leading-edge HR ideas, information, and experiences.

To help organizations enhance their performance through strategic management of human resources.

To be the preferred provider of leading edge HR knowledge in key strategic areas.

To bring together a diverse group of thought leaders and practitioners and to align our resources to extend knowledge in selected areas.

There are many knowledge areas for which HR professionals are held accountable, but the Society addresses what it feels are the most critical and strategic.  Through extensive research HRPS has identified the 5 key knowledge areas that are the focus of the HRPS strategy implementation.  These 5 areas drive the content and outcomes of all HRPS activities, from workshops and teleconferences to the HRP Journal articles, publications and research.

Click here to download a one page version of the Learning Agenda and Knowledge Management Strategy matrix that defines each area in greater detail, as well as how they are aligned to the specific initiatives of HRPS.

Roll over the 5 key knowledge areas below to explore how we define these areas.
