|Edie Goldberg - Member Spotlight|
We asked Edie to describe her experience with HRPS.
What is your involvement with HRPS?
I have been involved with HRPS for about 10 years. I first got involved with my local Affiliate, the California HR Strategy Forum, where I eventually became both the Program Chair and then the President. While I was President of the Affiliate I gained greater exposure to HRPS and got much more involved at the National level. This is now my second year serving as a board member. I am currently on the Executive Committee as the Treasurer, and I also serve as the Co-Chair of all Affiliates. It has been a real honor to help foster collaboration amongst the Affiliates and HRPS.
Why do you value your HRPS membership?
I have met such wonderful people through HRPS, so for me the networking has been incredibly valuable. In addition, HRPS is the only conference that I go to where I consistently walk away more inspired and energized with new ways of thinking about the challenges I have been facing in my work. The thought leadership is really second to none.
Can you provide a personal story of how HRPS has helped your professional career?
In my Talent Management Consulting practice I am frequently asked to benchmark best practices, and my firm sponsors original research as well. The relationships I have developed through HRPS have made it much easier for me to pick up the phone and call a colleague to participate in this research. It’s a win-win for all because we are all facing the same challenges and the participants benefit from the research as well.
