Request for Proposal

We invite you to submit your proposal for consideration for the events indicated below.

The HRPS Learning and Development committee is seeking presenters who will provide participants the opportunity to take a "deep dive" into the current thinking and practices regarding innovative and value-added ways to meet the ever changing and increasingly complex needs of the organization, its people and their customers.

All proposals must address at least one of the 5 key knowledge areas as identified by HRPS as the focus of all our strategy implementation. See HRPS Knowledge Areas. HRPS is a not-for-profit organization and as such we cannot endorse or accept proposals that directly sell any product or service.  Click here to view our  Commercialism Guidelines.

The following outlines the events and the specific requirements for having your proposal in consideration.

Workshops:

HRPS conducts 6-10 workshops per year on a specific topic area, i.e. Succession Planning, Culture Change, Etc.  See our list of current workshops.  HRPS workshops are limited in enrollment, typically 30-50 participants, and blend the insights of thought leaders worldwide with case study applications presented by senior HR executives in best-in-class companies. Speakers are the leading HR professionals in their respective fields. They offer in-depth insights to not only what works but also what doesn't work. Workshops are two days in duration with individual presentations lasting from one to two hours depending upon depth.

The HRPS Learning and Development Committee assigns 2 members to each workshop to field proposals, work with presenters, coordinate the design, and to facilitate each workshop.

Annual Conference:

Each year the annual conference brings together 600-plus attendees from around the world for a three-day, broad-based look at a theme of current importance to the HR profession. The speaker roster consists of top HR and line executives, consultants, academics and well-known authors who together will provide attendees a balanced view of theory and practice as well as an excellent learning experience.

Proposals are accepted for concurrent sessions scheduled to last one and ½ hours. They can accommodate 75-200 attendees. The sessions usually include case studies from organizations, interactive discussions and/or presentation of research-based models, which describe or enhance aspects of our theme. Please note that the case studies need not be "success stories" as long as significant lessons were an outcome; nor must the models be "proven" as long as they use methodologies that have clear implications for leading-edge practice. Some of the focus group sessions may be presented more than once.

The HRPS conference Committee convenes in the Spring to begin the planning process for the following year's conference.  Proposals for an annual conference should be submitted by the end of June for consideration in the following year's conference. Please click here to view the prelimary document which describes the current sub-themes for our 2008 Annual Conference.  On your submission form , please indicate which sub-theme best fits your proposal.

Corporate Sponsor Forum:

The HRPS membership includes a subset of more than 100 Corporate Sponsor companies. Corporate Sponsors are stakeholders in the Society with a major force in its direction. Each Fall, a Forum is conducted specifically for this group with a theme targeting a significant business/HR topic of current interest.  The audience is small (60-70 participants) and attendees are usually the top HR leaders from member companies.  The atmosphere is casual and stresses interactivity among speaker and participants.  Sharing and networking are of significant value.  Presentations are typically one hour to 1 1/2 hour in duration.
