Michael Stafford, senior vice president, Organization & Partner Development, Starbucks Coffee Company

Michael Stafford joined Starbucks Coffee Company in January 2003.As vice president, Organization & Partner Development, Michael is responsible for overseeing leadership and executive development, management training, succession planning, internal communications and the global partner survey processes.

Before joining Starbucks, Michael held a senior level Leadership Development and Learning position with Freddie Mac, a Fortune 50 mortgage and financial services organization.  Prior to that he was Vice President, Organization and Leadership Development at i2 Technologies, a leading provider of supply chain software.  He also held a similar position at Metro Media Restaurant Group (Bennigan's, Steak & Ale, Ponderosa, and Bonanza restaurants).  Michael began his career in Organization and Leadership Development with Taco Bell Corporation (then a division of PepsiCo) in Irvine, California.

 

Michael holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from New York University, a M.A. in Industrial Psychology from Fairleigh Dickson University, and a B.A. in Psychology from Brooklyn College.

In addition to his work at Starbucks, Stafford is currently on the Board of Directors of the Human Resource Planning Society, on the Board of Directors of Leadership Tomorrow and has previously served on the adjunct faculty of the Center for Creative Leadership and the University of Redlands.
