Walt is currently the President & CEO of the Human Resource Planning Society , a global network of strategic human resource and business leaders.Walt's relationship with the strategic HR community and exposure to current ideas, thinking, and best practices affords him an opportunity to gain a unique perspective on the complex and challenging human resource and business issues facing today's organizations. The Society represents a mix of leading edge thinkers and practitioners in business, industry, and academia around the world. Recently the Society was named a "Distinguished Organization" by the National Academy of Human Resources (NAHR) and also recognized as one of the key influences on the profession in the area of strategic HR.

Walt has been instrumental in extending the US based organization's reach into a truly global one, by building relationships and partnerships in Europe, Asia, and South America. The Society's State of the Art (SOTA) research report draws on this network to produce a truly global perspective of the strategic state of HR. HRPS also provides strategic content through it's website, publications, journal, workshops, conferences, and forums.
