Walt is currently the President & CEO of the Human Resource Planning Society , a global network of strategic human resource and business leaders.Walt's relationship with the strategic HR community and exposure to current ideas, thinking, and best practices affords him an opportunity to gain a unique perspective on the complex and challenging human resource and business issues facing today's organizations. The Society represents a mix of leading edge thinkers and practitioners in business, industry, and academia around the world. Recently the Society was named a "Distinguished Organization" by the National Academy of Human Resources (NAHR) and also recognized as one of the key influences on the profession in the area of strategic HR. |
Walt has been instrumental in extending the US based organization's reach into a truly global one, by building relationships and partnerships in Europe, Asia, and South America. The Society's State of the Art (SOTA) research report draws on this network to produce a truly global perspective of the strategic state of HR. HRPS also provides strategic content through it's website, publications, journal, workshops, conferences, and forums.
Walt is frequently sought after to provide insights into key HR issues by most leading publications including, Fortune, WSJ, New York Times, Investor's Business Daily, Dallas Morning News, Human Resource Executive, and other leading news outlets. Reflective of the Society's strategic emphasis, Walt's focus areas include Leadership and Talent Management, HR Strategy and Planning, Organizational Effectiveness, and Building a Strategic HR Function.
Walt's corporate background covers a wide range of experiences in HR including Employee, Labor, and Industrial Relations, Organizational and Leadership Development, Talent Management and Compensation and Benefits. Walt has served on the Board of HRPS and was named an Officer in 1995. Walt assumed the role of President & CEO in 1996.
