Leadership in ACTION! - Fostering a Positive Employee Experience

Imagine your company is growing rapidly across numerous geographies and has a goal of continued growth to further provide care for additional patients. You understand that taking care of your employees will lead to better care for your patients, but your organization has no way of gathering feedback from its employees. Where do you even begin?

MedVet, a family of emergency and specialty veterinary hospitals, tackled this exact question back in early 2018 after growing from four to 23 hospitals across the U.S. over the previous five years. MedVet realized that in order for them to provide exceptional and compassionate care for their patients, they needed to create an exceptional employee experience. Having had no way of gathering feedback, they needed to start.

In this webinar, MedVet's Chief Human Resources Officer, Maura Stevenson and Vice President, Organization and Leadership Development, Matt Morbitt, will discuss MedVet's employee engagement journey with a focus on:

  • How MedVet implemented a new employee feedback strategy
  • How to effectively take action on employee engagement survey results
  • Why involving and developing leaders to assist in fostering a positive employee experience is important

Maura Stevenson joined MedVet as Chief Human Resources Officer in 2017. In this role, she oversees all aspects of the Employee Experience, including talent management, compensation and benefits, leadership and employee development, and organizational development. Prior to MedVet, Maura worked as the VP of Talent Management at the Wendy’s Company and the VP of Human Resources at Starbucks. Maura completed her Master of Arts and PhD at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

Matt Morbitt serves as Vice President of Organization and Leadership Development for MedVet. Prior to joining MedVet, Matt spent four years as an Organization Development and Change Management Consultant coaching leaders and teams through change and implementing internal organization development strategies. Matt earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Dayton and his BSBA in Organization Development and Procurement/Materials Management from Bowling Green State University.
